The Mushroom That Ate Me

I left my giant castle once
to walk beneath the moon
but before I got out very far
I was eaten by a shroom.
The mysteries of my monkey world
whispered through it's spores
and in a naked drunken state
it ranted of distant shores,
"There's creatures who have built a world
I really can't describe
but they have spoken with me
and I don't think they lied
when they told me of their plan
to take us into space
and populate the galaxies
with a super mushroom race!"
Though I never said these things
this mushroom seemed to think
I didn't have the heart to say,
"I think your ideas stink."
So the shroom went rolling on
glowing bright for days
and I heard it praising me in songs
so I didn't mind it's ways.
