No Turning Back
I wish I could
Don’t you know I wish I could?
Wrong decisions made
Memories fade
When was the last time I prayed?
I wish I could go back
I wish I could
Life used to be so good
Everywhere I turn, I see a door close.
Remembering the highs
Experiencing the lows
Days become night and I cannot see
My life’s in jeopardy
How can it be?
I thought I planned it out correctly
Lord God, please don’t forget me
Like I forgot you
So many times
A heavy heart cannot climb
These stairs of drudgery
I can’t resist
The urge to blame myself
How did I miss?
The signs that were right before my eyes
The simple truth, covered by so many lies
I can’t return, I wish I could
Instead of knowing, I should’ve understood
So many times I carried this weight
That transformed into frustration and hate
I can’t believe the decisions I’ve made
I’ve messed around and dug my grave.
By the grace of God, it’s not my time to go
I really don’t know for sure, but I believe it so
I have so much to give
If I can only get myself right
My heart straight and my mind tight
My physical will grow into what I’ve envisioned
The universe has a plan for me. It’s not my decision.
