A Vision
The negative energy that surrounds
Attempts to engulf my presence
It creeps and doesn’t make a sound
But cannot touch my essence
Because my mind is focused on
The ways of immaterial
I puff ‘til all the smoke is gone
To help me reach the spiritual
My soul is crying out to God
To help my understanding
But yet it seems that life is odd
Or am I too demanding?
I feel that I will elevate
Within this life and time
Amidst the prejudice and hate
I search for all the signs
And answers to the mysteries
And try to find my station
I read about the history
Of western civilization
A nation built on blood and lies
Destruction of my people
For this, the reason I despise
A world that is not equal
To that of truth and honesty
Instead of all this sorrow
And all the while they promise me
A better day tomorrow?
I have my own philosophy
For all the disrespect
I understand, it’s prophesy
And vengeance we’ll collect
But not until we unify
Will we get what we’re due
And then we’ll see that you and I
Can work for me and you
‘Cause self employment is a must
For future generations
For then we’ll feel the world is just
And have no hesitations
About the way we hold our heads
With confidence and pride
But what I’m seeing now instead
Is like our spirit died
Throughout the years of dwelling in
This belly of the beast
I realize the hell we’re in
Will end when we’re at peace (with ourselves).
