Bridge to Terabithia
This story begins with a young boy name
Jesse who liked to race and wanted to be the
fastest runner of all the boys at his school,
so he practice all summer long to make sure
that he would win, he was the only boy of
four
sisters so he was in charge of milking their
cow so that gave him enough time to practice
even more. They lived own a farm somewhere
out near
Washington because his dad always had to go
into Washington to work. During the summer
across the way a new family moved into the
country
From another state because they were trying
to change their lifestyle of spending too
much money and traveling all over the world
the wife Judy was a best selling author and
Bill was in construction and they had a
daughter
whose name was Leslie she was their only
child, Jesse was anxious to see who was
moving in and so was his little sister she
was hoping it would be someone for her to
play with. But Leslie was Jesse's age and
when school
began in the fall Jesse and Leslie were in
the same classroom. Jesse could not wait
until it was lunchtime so he could race
against all the boys in his 5th grade class,
even though girls wasn't allowed to race with
the boys, they let Leslie race and Leslie out
ran them all, after that the boys never raced
again.
Jesse and Leslie became best friends anyway.
After school Jesse and Leslie would go off
into the woods to play in their secret place
across the bridge they name the place
Terabithia that was their castle she was the
queen and he was king and know one was to
ever know. Everyday they would go their when
Jesse was done milking the cow. It was almost
time for Christmas break and Jessie really
wanted to get Leslie something for Christmas
but he only had a little bit of money and he
had promise his big sisters that he would put
on with them to get their little sister a
Barbie doll she had wanted, and Jessie really
wanted to get Leslie something for Christmas.
One day they were riding home from school and
Jesse spotted a sign that said "FREE
PUPPIES", he asked the bus driver if he
could get off,
because he had an errand to run for his
mother but he really went to get a puppy for
Leslie and he had hoped that she would like
it. On Christmas morning Jessie went over to
Leslie's house to exchange gifts, when Leslie
saw the puppy she was so happy she name the
puppy Prince Terrien the prince of the
castle. Jesse like to use water colors and
Leslie brought Jesse a case of watercolor
paint and drawing paper, he was extremely
happy. The winter had passed and spring was
near it was almost time for spring break.
Jesse and Leslie couldn't wait because
they knew they would spend more time at the
castle. During spring break it rain most of
the time but they still went to their castle
even though it was difficult the rope that
they used to get across was wet and slippery
Leslie always managed to get across Jesse was
always afraid. One day Jesse's teacher call
to see if he wanted to go to themuseum while
he was on spring break and that day Leslie
went to the castle alone as she grabbed the
rope to swing across her hands slipped and
she fell
she hit her head and died instantly
When Jesse came home from the museum he seen
everyone looking sad he asked what was the
matter and his dad told him that Leslie had
died that she had fell as she was swinging
across the bridge. Jesse's life was never the
same again he just lost his best friend.
Leslie parents had her cremated and they left
their home Leslie's dad gave Jesse the dog he
had given her for Christmas, because he knew
that Leslie would want him to have it. Jesse
was glad to have P.T., Jesse went across the
bridge to repair the rope. And he made his
little sister the new Queen of the castle.
