Peace
“Peace is
the altar of God, the condition in which happiness exists.”
-Paramahanansa Yogananda
“There is one thing which, if practised and developed conduces
to letting go, giving up, stilling, calming, higher knowledge,
awakening and to Nirvana. And what is that one thing? It is
the recollection of peace.” -
The Buddha
Psalm 46: 1-11
1
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah
4
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7
The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Selah
8
Come and see the works of the LORD,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
he burns the shields
[b]
with fire.
10
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
11
The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Peace and
Blessings Brothers and Sisters in the Light,
Today marks the beginning of the “scheduled” cease-fire
between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Yesterday my
husband and I were talking about the planned cease-fire and
discussing why peace needs to be planned. Peace is not
something planned or scheduled or mapped out. Peace is a state
of being. It is a state of existence where we are consciously
connected to the Most High. And it is only when we are in this
state within that we can achieve the peace we wish to see in
the world.
Peace is commonly understood as the absence of or freedom from
hostilities. In the worldly sense, it refers to freedom from
war, quarrels, disputes, or anything else that takes us out of
a state of calm. But what we fail to see is that even the
common definitions imply the state of the individual. (I will
speak to that later) On a metaphysical sense, peace can still
be understood as the absence of or freedom from hostilities,
but the hostilities referred to are our own thoughts and
perceptions. Studies have shown that on average we have about
60,000 thoughts a day. Think about that for a moment. That’s
60,000 reasons why you didn’t get something accomplished you
set out to do. It’s all the worry and doubt, all the things
going on at work or with the family, all the things in life we
over-commit to; in short, it’s all of the things we let
distract us from peace.
How then, can we possibly wish for peace in the world outside
when the world inside each one of us is engulfed in chaos? How
can we end the fighting amongst the world when there is a
battle waging inside of us? World peace is not possible when
there is no inner peace. How we feel and think as individuals
is directly reflected in the world outside. We are unable to
see love, kindness, abundance or peace in our lives if that is
not our state of being. If we are unable to stay connected to
the Most High and remain in a state of peace the wars will
never cease.
The time is now family. The time of Heaven on earth, the time
of the Second Coming, the time of Perfect Peace, whatever it
is you want to call it, that time is now among us. Now is the
time for us to all usher in paradise. Now is the time for us
to manifest all of things we wish to see in our lives and in
our world. Now more than ever is the time for us to remain in
conscious contact with the Most High. Only then will we be
able to not only attain inner peace, but manifest all of the
blessings the Most High has in store for us all. Focus on
peace. Keep your mind focused on love and peace. And when you
radiate love and peace, that same love and peace will be
reflected in the world. Be the change you wish to see in
others and in the world.
With Love, Peace, and Light,
Shekinah
